RESTORATION OF CAMERA OBSCURA PORTRAIT
This wonderful example of a pre Civil War portrait was created with help of camera obscura where the image is first traced on a piece of paper laid over the ground glass of the camera. This technique was very popular at the time when the photographic process was still extremely difficult and very expensive. During restoration the portrait was scanned at high resolution and retouched to remove all signs of tears and stains. Fully restored and printed on high quality archival photo paper, this portrait became a great addition to the collection of photographs and images of a family history that spanned over 150 years.
